Bringing An Old home back to life
This remodel was designed for a local contractor as a speculative project, aiming to turn a funky old building into a contemporary home worthy of Bellingham's southside housing market. The existing space was entirely awkward; inefficient use of space, terrible flow, low ceilings, and no connectivity with the beautiful lot. The remodel design stayed almost entirely within the existing shell in order to significantly minimize investment costs. The kitchen/living core of the house is the most significant redesign, turning a dark zone with a 7'-4" ceiling into a spacious and bright room with vaulted ceilings. The unfinished basement has become the kid's realm, complete with a media/rec area. A new mudroom/laundry/bath area reworks the circulation from interior to exterior.
This project is currently under construction... we'll be posting more photos as work progresses!
